Tennessee Whiskey

Did you know that Tennessee‘s iconic beverage, Tennessee Whiskey is differentiated from other whiskey by a additional step in its aging. Where the spirits differ drastically however is in regards to what happens just before the freshly distilled clear spirit goes into the charred oak barrels to age. In Tennessee, it gets charcoal filtered.  The whiskey must be charcoal filter prior to aging. Other than that, Tennessee Whiskey and Bourbon are made in the exact same way. They are both distilled from at least 51% corn.

The charcoal used for Tennessee Whiskey is obtained from specially selected sugar maple trees, which are often seasonally burned on the premises to make charcoal. By filtering the newly distilled spirit through the charcoal prior to barreling, the process strips the whiskey of much of its harsh flavorings and creates a smoother, more easy drinking spirit.

Tennessee Whiskey is light whiskey color base with speckles of golds, red and dark blue referencing several of the producers of the whiskey.

Care of your hand knit garments  
Please hand wash cold or lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. Even though this yarn does contain superwash merino, I do always recommend that you hand wash your knitwear. We use colorfast acid dyes for dying our yarn, and rinse until water runs clear. There may be a chance that some dye may bleed slightly in the first wash of your finished item. This does sometimes happen for speckled yarn and stubborn colors that are prone to bleed. For the first couple of washes, hand wash separately to be sure that no further bleeding. 

There are no dye lots. We always try to sell from same dye lots but if not sure, we recommend blending the skeins as you work. Color saturation can differ from different dyelots.
