The Longest Straw
Zeus overthrew his father, Cronus and decided to divide the world amongst his conquering brothers Hades, and Poseidon. They would draw straws and the one with the longest straw would get to be King of the gods and the one with the shortest straw would have to rule the underworld. Poseidon drew the middle straw and was granted power and domain over the sea. Zeus drew next, drawing “The Longest Straw”. He became god of the skies and because higher than any other gods he also became the king of the gods. Hades drew the smallest straw and was given the underworld and all the dead folk.
Zeus had his golden throne on the highest peak of Mount Olympus and was respected and revered by all gods and mortals. All kings boasted that they were descended from Zeus. Zeus was the "Lord of Justice", he punished anyone who lied or broke an oath, but was fair and always tried to keep the balance of all things. Also, Zeus was in charge of the weather and shaped it to his whim. When he was in a good mood, Zeus blessed the world with beautiful weather; however, when he was in a bad mood, the “Wrath of Zeus” unleashed rain, winds, lightning, and thunderclaps to bring disaster upon mortals.
Zeus and Hera’s marriage ceremony was the first of its kind in “Olympia”. It was hugely celebrated with lots of feasting and merriment at the Garden of the Hesperides. All the deities were in attendance and they presented them with lots of magnificent gifts.

Care of your hand knit garments
Please hand wash cold or lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. Even though this yarn does contain superwash merino, I do always recommend that you hand wash your knitwear. We use colorfast acid dyes for dying our yarn, and rinse until water runs clear. There may be a chance that some dye may bleed slightly in the first wash of your finished item. This does sometimes happen for speckled yarn and stubborn colors that are prone to bleed. For the first couple of washes, hand wash separately to be sure that no further bleeding.
There are no dye lots. We always try to sell from same dye lots but if not sure, we recommend blending the skeins as you work. Color saturation can differ from different dyelots.
